Computers aren’t quite ready to write novels

Word is great for spell check, overly long sentences, and some other things. Grammarly is good at picking up passive voice and a host of other things. I don’t think they will ever be able to think like a writer, however. I have the term “silver lining” several times in my first chapter. Word wants me to change it to “positive aspect,” or “unseen benefit.”

NO. I really mean a silver lining. From a cloud. With the cloud, actually. Cloud, lining, both going on the spinning wheel. Sorry Word!

Poor Word. It just doesn’t understand fantasy.
